Limeberry

I just felt like sharing this with you.
My friend and I went to Limeberry recently, and it was pretty much just the same as any other trip to Limeberry.  We come in and get yummy yummy frozen yogurt (That is pretty much ice cream).  I got custard and cake batter, butterfinger crumbs, butterscotch sauce, and cherries.  My friend had cake batter... and I don't remember what else she had, whatever.  But we sat down, and started talking.  Then we started listening to the music- which is chosen by the employee present at the time-, because we recognized the song.  It was a christian song we often hear on the radio.  We listened to it for a moment, and began kind of singing along under our breath, along with a few other songs that came on later.
We really liked that trip to Limeberry, it was... refreshing.  On the way home, all we talked about was the guy who worked there, because he had reminded us of someone (I'm not naming anyone).  We talked about it so much, that we forgot to text our moms and tell them that we were coming home, which we were supposed to do... oops  :)

Brothers

Brothers can be so annoying sometimes.  They just pester you, and tease you, and play hard with you!  UGH!  Uh yeah… I wouldn’t know because I don’t have any brothers.  Yeah, I can’t relate to you girs out there that have annoying little brothers, because I have three younger sisters… I pity myself.  All my life I’ve wanted a little or older brother so badly, I’ve even told my sisters that!  When my mom was pregnant with Sarah and Leah I prayed as much as I could about it being a boy… giving indication of the names, they turned out to be girls.  Which I love them, and they’re awesome!!  But I’ve always wanted a little or older brother.
I read stories where this girl has all older brothers and they seem like so much fun, and I think… Why can’t I have that!?!  Well, I have an announcement to make!!!  Recently I have overcome this predicament with a solution!!!  I now adopt honorary little or older brothers!!!  Right now I only have one little brother- and many others I wish I could have but I will say good-bye to soon- but I am slowly accomodating more brothers!  My honorary little brother, Elijah (I call him ‘lijah), is a short scrawny, little dude, that likes to run around and yell in peoples faces.
We are both very competitive, and we are always fighting, we even once fought about why I decided he was my honorary little brother.  We have competed in everything!!!  We’ve had spit wars, and high pitched wars (and because I’m a girl I’m the one who always won that one), we’ve even had a war to see who could make the biggest fake dent over a real dent in a car.  Hey!  He’s my little brother, were supposed to fight about things.  We joke around all the time, that one of our parents kidnapped one of us, and raised us in their family, when they really belonged in the other.

I have been telling my mom and his sister over and over again that he is my honorary little brother- they are beginning to get annoyed.  Anyway, just thought I’d freshen you up on the topic, that I am not brotherless!!!!  I have a little brother, he just lives in a different family, and didn’t become my little brother till nine years after he was born.

Imagine this with me...
You live in a country that it is illegal to be a christian.  But you still love God with your whole entire heart, and you want to learn more about Him, but you don't have a bible.  All you have is a single page of the bible, Matthew 13-15, you've memorized it, and read the passages a hundred times.  You desire to know more, and your family doesn't know about God, but you want to tell them.  However you don't have the resource to tell them.  Occasionally you get to trade your one sheet of paper of the bible, for another page of the bible, but not often.

This is what it is like for Christians in Colombia, and other countries.  They don't have bibles, or at least not whole ones,

They desprately need bibles, imagine not being able to study your bible, because you don't have one.  That is what it is like for people in, Colombia, Africa, etc.  If you want to help get bibles to them, look at the websites on the top.  Thank you!!

Tied By Fear: Chapter 10

Dakota laid in her bed, two months later, studying the ceiling.  She hadn’t really made much interaction with people since she had come home, not even her best friend, Lydia Noel.  She had just thought over and over again of the others, and what they had been through together.  But she couldnt wait for her visitors this afternoon, she had been so extactic she could talk nonstop.  She went through the memories of when she had woken up again after finding out about Sarahs death.
The doctors had let her go to Jordans room, and talk to her.  They had stayed quiet for awhile, but then Jordan had started sobbing out of the blue, and apologizing.  “I am so sorry, Dakota.  I, and the others, were so rude to you.  We practically shunned you because you stood up for the right thing.  I’m sorry, we just didn’t want anything to happen to us, and we wanted to get back to our families.  I’m sorry, I should have trusted God more, like you were.”
Dakota had smiled, and told her she forgave her, and they went on chatting for awhile of different things.  Until Dakota asked, “Do you know about Sarah?”
A shadow had fallen over Jordans face, “Yes, I know.”
Dakota stared at her, “I wish she had excepted Christ before she died.”
Jordans face had brightened up then, “She did.”
She studied Jordans smiling face, “She did?”
  “Yes, so did Samuel.”
Dakota had stared at the floor for a moment, “I wish I could have helped tell them.  But I’ve never really been good at that stuff.”
“I’m sure you would have been great.”
They had discussed other things after that, and after her visit with Jordan she had been taken back to her hospital room.  The next day she had been released, along with Ian and Brooke.  The police had interviewed them, immediately after.  The questions were answered easily by them, and at the end, Brooke had asked, “Did you find them?”
The policeman nodded, and Brooke continued with her question, “Who are they?”
He looked up at her from his notepad and said, “Brookelynn Mills, you are girl with too many questions and a boldness to you.  You need to watch yourself before you get hurt.”
Brooke had looked astonished, and was about to say something but held her tongue.  “And to answer your question, The girl is, Jill Tanner.  There was her brother, Maddox Tanner, and their accomplice, Joseph King.  Otherwise known as Joseph Snake.”
After that he had left, leaving the opportunity for Brooke to ask anymore questions.  A doorbell rung downstairs, that stirred her from her thoughts.  She smiled, and jumped out of her bed.  She ran down the stairs, the thunderous way she use to do.  “I’ll get it, mom!”
She threw open the door, and stood in the faces of Jordan, Brooke, Ian, and Samuel.  She smiled at them, and they returned the smile, warmly.  “Come in, you guys.”
She greeted them inside, and led them to the living room.  After everyone was situated, she began to speak, “Welcome to our new bible study.  I’m going to begin with a favorite verse of mine, Psalm twenty-three four, though I walk through the valley of the Shadow of Death, I will fear not evil, for thou art with me; for you are close beside me.  Your rod and staff protect and comfort me.”

Tied By Fear: Chapter 9

Dakota woke up to the sound of beeping beside her, and white walls.  She coughed, and sat up.  “Where-”
She laid her eyes on two people, sitting beside the bed she laid on, with worried looks on their faces.  They looked up at her, and locked their gaze on hers, “Mom, dad?”  Dakota asked, with tears forming in her eyes.
“Dakota.”  Her mom cried, with tears streaming down her face.
Her mom leaned forward, and hugged her.  Tears fell down Dakota’s cheeks at thirty miles per hour, while she buried her face into her moms shoulder.  Dakota did not want to stop hugging her mom, but after a moment, her mom let go, and she glanced at her dad.  “Daddy.”  She whispered.
Dakota saw tears was running down his rough face, and he stared at Dakota in disbelief.  Before she could say anything to him, her mom interrupted, “Dakota, I am so sorry.”
“What are you sorry about?”  Dakota asked.
“The day you were kidnapped, and I left you at the house, I did that. I knew it was going to happen and I let it.”  Tears continued to stream down her face as she explained, “Moments before I called you down, one of the men attacked me, and threatened to kill me and everyone else if I did not do as they said.”
Dakota studied her mom, and spoke, “It’s fine, I forgive you.”
Tears continued to travel down her face, as she began to ask questions.  “How did I get here?”
“The police brought you here, they found you and the others all unconscious with your captors.  They were loading you all in the car, when we caught them.”  Her dad answered.
  “We?”
“Yes, I went with the police department when we found out where you guys were.”
Dakota sat astonished, “Wait, we were in Sweet Home the whole time?”
  “Yes.”
Dakota paused for a moment, before continuing.  “Are the others all right?”
A look of sadness spread through her moms face, “Ian and Brooke are all right, as well as you, but-”
“Then what am I doing here?!”  Dakota asked, a little too loud.
“The doctors want to keep you in for observation.”  Her dad answered.
  “Oh.”
There was silence in the room for a moment, but her mom continued, “Jordan was shot in her left shoulder, really close to her heart, the doctors are concerned, but think she’ll be okay.  Samuel is okay, they got out the venom in time, but.”
Dakota held her breath, as she waited for her mom to continue, “They did not get the venom out in time for Sarah, she died this morning.”
Dakota’s breath caught in her throat, “But, she couldn’t have died, Sarah…”  Her voice trailed off.
No matter how the others had treated her, she still had loved them.  She didn’t know why, but she had gotten attached to them.  Maybe it was because they had gone through the same thing together.  More tears found its way down Dakotas face.  She laid down on her pillow and sobbed, “I’m sorry, Dakota.”  She heard her mom apologize.
More tears sprung up, and rushed down the sides of her face.  She tried to stifle them, but couldn’t.  She strained to remember the last words Sarah had said, well, of course not.  I’ve seen people do nothing but wrong things my entire life. Her words weren’t very significant, but they were true.  She heard a door open and a nurse order her parents out of the room.  Then she commanded to Dakota, “Fall asleep, you need to get some rest.”
The nurse left the room, and Dakota cried and let the tears pour out and soak her pillow, intil she fell asleep.

Tied By Fear: Chapter 8

Dakota’s eyes opened, and her senses slowly came back to her.  Duct tape covered over her mouth, and her hands were all also duct taped behind her back.  She sat against a wall, in the room she had been held capive in.  She looked around, frightened.  She saw Jordan and the others, sitting up, conscious.  A look of fear was in their eyes, and she followed their gaze.  She saw something slither slowly in the kids direction, and rattle.  A rattlesnake!  Dakota curled up against the wall as close as she could, as she thought of options of escape.  I could find something to cut the duct tape on, I could try and grab the snake from behind me, but that would probably end in failure.
She looked around the room for anything that would be useful.  After finding nothing, she looked down at her tennis shoes.  God, please provide a way out of here!  A tear ran down her cheek, I always thought I’d be brave at the point of death, I guess I was wrong.  She studied her shoes a little longer, and her eyes settled on her red shoe lace.  Dakota suddenly remembered certain instructions her dad had given her once.  She began to do all that her dad had showed her to do, as slowly as she could.
She brought her arms under her legs, and with difficulty, she got her hands in front of her without attracting much attention from the snake.  The rattlesnake hissed in her attention, but did not make a move.  The others sat in fear, and in curiosity of Dakota.  She ripped the duct tape from her mouth as quietly as she could.  She gasped from the pain of hair ripping after it was taken off.  She sighed in new fresh air, and prayed.  Thank you God.
She waited to see what the snake was doing, it slithered closer toward them, as if waiting for the best moment to strike one of the kids.  Dakota reached down for her shoe, and restrained from ripping it off, and hurling it at the snake.  She untied her sneaker, and took one of the laces.  The snake came closer, and she could guess who it was aiming for, Sarah.  She could see the terror in her eyes, as the snake came closer.  Dakota stopped, and whispered, “Sarah.”
Sarah shifted her gaze to Dakota, in sheer terror.  She whispered instructions, “Sarah, just don’t move.  I’ll get you guys out in a moment.”
Sarah nodded, and didn’t let her gaze off of her, as she continued.  Dakota placed the end of the lace in her mouth, and began to saw the shoelace against the duct tape that bound her hands together.  She sawed as quickly as she could, while taking a few quick glances at Sarah.  Dakota was half way through the duct tape, when she heard a rattle.  She turned her head, and saw the snake take it’s venomous fangs out of her leg.  She could see blood seep through Sarah’s khaki designer pants.  Dakota sucked in a quick breath, and knew she had to hurry.
She sawed through the duct tape as fast as she could, and by the time she stood, the snake was attacking Samuel.  She slowly approached the snake as it neared him.  She paused for a moment, and gathered her courage, then went for the head of the snake.  But before she reached it, it lunged forward at Samuel, and sunk it’s fangs into his leg.  It freed itself from his leg, and Dakota grasped the head.  She saw, from the corner of her eye, Ian beginning to do exactly what she had done to get free.
She glanced around for somewhere to hide the snake.  After finding no where, she panicked.  “Ian, hurry up.”  She demanded frightenly.
The snake twisted it head around and around, trying to bite her arm.  Ian sawed through the duct tape, and stood up.  “Ian, get Sarah and Samuel and then the others.  I can’t help, if I’m not careful the snake has the opportunity to bite someone, if within reach.”
Ian nodded, and began to unduct tape them.  Dakota kept the rattlesnake away from her body, and everyone else as he freed them.  When Jordan’s duct tape was off, she rushed over to Sarah and Samuel, and began to study their wounds.  “We need to get them to a hospital.”  Jordan announced.
“Uh, duh.”  Brooke acknowledged, as she stood, “Not to mention that we are locked in here!”
Ian glanced at Brooke, “How do you know?”
“Do you think they’re going to leave the door unlocked?!”
  “We could at least try.”
Ian ran up the stairs, and checked the door.  He ran back down with a frown covering his face, “Told ya.’”  Brooke sassed.
“You guys,”  Dakota reminded them she was there, “Holding the snake here, and I can’t hold it here forever.”
Brooke marched over to Dakota, and grabbed her by the collar of her shirt.  She tried to keep the snake away.  “This is all your fault!  If you had help us do what we were asked to do, we wouldn’t be here right now!”
Dakota felt the snake squirm, and she freed herself from Brooke’s grasp, “They said they were going to do what they planned to do with us, all along!  They planned to kill us, and this is not my fault!”
Dakota squeezed her hands tight from her anger.  She squeezed the snake’s head out of her hand.  It fell to the floor, and Brooke screamed.  She ran to the other side of the room, and the snake followed.  The snake slithered by Ian, and he grabbed its head.  Now the rattlesnake was angrier than ever.  “I’m killing it.”  Ian told them.
  “How are you-”
Ian slammed the snake on the floor and stomped his heel into it’s head.  The snakes body coiled up, and then fell limp.  “Oh.”
Ian inspected the dead snake, while Brooke huddled in the corner breathing in gasps of air.  She seemed to gather herself after a moment, and then glared at Dakota, “You did that on purpose!”
Dakota stared at her in shock.  “I would never do that!  It slipped out of my hand!”
“Then maybe you should have kept a tighter grip on it!”
“Well, everyone’s fine now!  So whats the big deal?!”  Dakota shouted.
  “Sarah and Samuel got bitten!”
“Well, if it hadn’t been for me we all would have been bitten!”
Brooke seemed to have no come back for Dakota, instead gave a deathening glare into her eyes.  Dakota returned to glare, not daring to back down.  “You guys, I need your help.”  Jordan acknowledged.
They looked at Jordan, and she took charge.  “Try and find water maybe, and soap, and a sharpie.”
Brooke looked astonished, “You think they’re going to leave us water and soap!?”
“It’s worth a look isn’t it?!”  Shouted, the usual quiet and calm, Jordan.
Brooke hesitated but began to explore for the items.  “Ian, help Brooke find them.”
Ian nodded, and began to look, despite his doubtful expression.  “Dakota, come here and help me.”
Dakota approached the three, and studied Samuel and Sarah.  They had pained looks on their faces, and they clutched the legs which had been bitten.  “What do you need help with?”  Dakota asked.
“Roll up their pants, and loosen and clothing around the bite.  I’m telling them about Jesus.”
Dakota nodded, and began to carefully loosen the clothing.  She listened to Jordan as she soothed them with her words, “I’ve told you guys before how God created the Earth, and everything on it.   I also told you how we have all sinned, and fall short of the glory of God, and that because of that we deserve eternal suffering, and can’t be in His presence.  But I haven’t been able to tell you guys how God fixed that, and that we can be with Him.”
“I don’t want to know about that stuff.”  Sarah told her, through clenched teeth.
“Well, I’m going to tell you anyway.  God came down here, to the sinful Earth, in the form of a human baby.  I’m sure you’ve heard of the original Christmas story.  Haven’t you?”
Samuel nodded, and Sarah continued to stare at her, “God sent an angel to a virgin named, Mary, who was supposed to be wed to a man named, Joseph. The angel told her that she was to have a son named, Jesus, God’s son.  She asked him how this could possibly be, for she had been with no man, before.  The angel said, ‘The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and and the power of the Most High will overshadow you.’  Nine months later it was as the angel had told her, and she gave birth to a son, and named him, Jesus.”
Jordan paused for a moment, then continued, “As He grew up, He did many miraculous signs.  He healed the sick, He loved everyone in His sight, He turned water into wine, and He taught people about God, He was perfect and innocent.  Wouldn’t you agree?”
Sarah and Samuel nodded.  As Dakota took off Sarahs sock, she could tell she was now fully hooked.  “He was like no other man, because He was no man, He was perfect because He was God.”
“Well, of course not.  I’ve seen people do nothing but wrong things my entire life.”  Sarah answered.
“Yeah.  Well, there were some people that didn’t like Him very much, they wanted Him dead.  They had tried many times to catch Him in blasphemy, but each time they failed-”
“Jordan we found a sharpie!”  Brooke said, with obvious surprise, as she and Ian rushed over.
Jordan and Dakota looked up at Brooke and Ian, Brooke handed the sharpie to Jordan.  “Thank you.”
Dakota stared at Brooke for another moment, when something caught her eye.  “Brooke, is that a bobby pin, in your hair?”  Dakota asked.
Brooke pulled it out, “Yeah, why?”
Dakota smiled, “Give it to me!”
She snatched it from Brookes hand and ran up the stairs.  When she got up, she began to pick the lock with the bobby pin, and in a moment she heard a click.  She creaked open the door, and glanced around for any trouble.  After finding none, Dakota entered into the hall.  She hurried, quietly, through the house, searching for a phone.  She searched for ten minutes with no success, and paused in the kitchen for a moment.  Do they actually live here?  She glanced around some more, and found nothing.
She began to leave to look for the front door, when she heard footsteps.  She paused for a moment, and listened more intently.  The footsteps came closer, and she scrunched down behind the counter.  The person came closer, and Dakota tried to guess if it was , Red, Blonde, or Creepy.  She gathered up her courage, and looked behind her shoulder, at the person approaching her.  It was a girl, and she had long brown hair, and Dakota realized it was Brooke.  She sighed, and stood up.  “Brooke, what are you doing up here?”  Dakota asked.
“What!?  I can’t find a way out?!”  Brooke shouted.
Dakota raised an eyebrow at her, “I’m sorry I offended you.”  She mumbled.
“Did you find a phone?”  Brooke asked, after a moment of silence.
“No, I was just about to look for a door.”
“Well, I did.”  Brooke pulled a phone from behind her back, “I already called 9-1-1.  They’re on there way.”
“I have no idea where we are.  How’d you know the address to give them?”  Dakota asked.
She blushed with shame, “I’ve known where we are this whole time.”
Fear creeped into Brooke’s eyes, and she took a few steps back.  “Brooke?”

  “Dakota, duck!”

Tied By Fear: Chapter 7

Two days later, Dakota and the others sat in a room upstairs- finally out of the dingy basement- listening to Red.  “Today you find out what your special operation is?”  He smiled evilly, as he stood up out of his chair.  “There are some papers, in the building were taking you too, that we need you to take.  And then you are free.”
That’s it?  What’s on those papers?  “But remember, we will be watching you for the rest of your lives.”  Creepy said.
A shiver went down Dakota’s spine, Is there no end to her creepiness!?!  “Is there a problem, Dakota Hunter?”  Creepy asked.
Dakota shook her head, “Good, because you know what will happen if there are any problems.”
Creepy slid a shock collar to each of them, and glared at them until they put them on.  Dakota stared at the collar in her hand for a moment, and the insides of her stomach did a flip flop.  But she latched the collar behind her neck anyway.  Red told them the plan, and when he was done, Blonde said, “Follow us.”  Waving his gun at them.
They all got up, and followed Creepy, Red, and Blonde, out to the car.  They entered the car, and Dakota sat next to Samuel.  His job, for the “operation”, was to dismantle the cameras in the restaurant they were breaking into.   What could possibly be so valuable on a piece of paper, in a restaurant.  Do they need a receipt or something?  Red started up the car, and they drove away to there destination.  Half an hour later, they arrived, and the car braked.  The engine died down, and they climbed out.  Dakota thought of running, but was reminded of the last time she had tried to do that.
Creepy handed Ian and Brooke a radio, and then they joined them.  Dakota eyed Sarah walk by the window, and Blonde pull her down by the collar of her shirt.  “You mess this operation up, and I’ll personally make sure you never see your family again.  Not even me!”
He let go of Sarah, and she joined Dakota and the others in silence.  Red gave them the gesture, and they began running.  Dakota followed the others, trying to catch up with Sarah.  She got close enough to her and whispered, “What did the blonde guy mean, you would never see your family again, not even him?”
Sarah shuddered, “He’s my dads cousin.”
 “What?!”  Dakota exclaimed, astonished.
“Shh!  Yes, his name is Joseph King.  But I’ve heard the other two only call him Joseph Snake.”
“Why do they call him Joseph Snake?”  Dakota asked.
“I don’t know.”  Sarah paused, then hissed, “Maybe because he’s a dishonest snake.”
Dakota followed them silently, His name is, Joseph.  That’s far from the name Rumplestiltskin.  They ran to the restaurant, and waited to catch there breathe.  It didn’t take long for Ian to recover- it seemed as if he had ran a million miles before- “Okay Samuel, do your thing.”
They followed him to the back of the restaurant- Olive Garden- to a large silver box attached to the building.  Samuel immediately opened up the metal box to a bunch of wires, and began his work.  He cut a few, and just took some off, but a moment later he announced, “Done.”
Samuel stood straight, and looked at his work, satisfied.  “The power’s… off.”

“Samuel, the lights were off already.”  Brooke commented.
“Yes, but… the lights were, off… and I just turned off the security… cameras and, alarms.”  Samuel lengthened the word, “cameras” out longer then he need too.
 “They better be.”
Ian studied the doorknob, a moment then tapped the side of it a couple times.  “What’d you do that for?”  Dakota asked.
“Now, I can open the door.”  Ian played with the doorknob for a moment then shoved it open.  “Ta-da!”
Dakota rolled her eyes, as she crept into the fancy restaurant.  She saw as she stepped in the room, Sarah lead a woman to a closet and shove her inside, and locked the door.  “What was that for?”  Dakota asked.
Sarah glared at her, “We don’t want anyone interfereing, do we?”
Dakota got the feeling Sarah intended the question to be a command.  They strolled through the building, searching.  “Did they say where the papers were supposed to be?”  Sarah asked.
Ian grabbed his radio, and spoke into it.  “We’re inside the building, where are the papers?”
Silence answered his question, and he stood for a moment waiting.  “They’re… not answering.”  Samuel told Ian.
“Yeah, I know that.”  Ian hooked the radio back onto his belt, and they started the search again.
A few moments later, Jordan called, “I think I might have found the papers.”
They all sped to her from where they were, and waited anxiously to see the papers.  “What’s on them?”  Brooke asked.
“Just names, and a bunch of numbers.”  Jordan answered.
Dakota stole the papers from her, and studied them.  There information from credit cards!  Identification theft.  “Do you guys know what this is?”  Dakota asked.
“No, what is it?”  Sarah asked.
Samuel glanced over her shoulder, and looked at the paper.  “It’s credit card information.”  Dakota announced.
“So… identification theft?”  Jordan asked, worried.
 “Yeah!”
Ian seemed doubtful, “How do you know this?”
“My dads a police officer, he explains this kind of stuff to me all the time.”
“Well, don’t try anything, okay?  Or you’re in big trouble.”  Ian commanded.
Dakota glanced at the papers, Nathan Ross, Edmonia Kate, Grace Hopper, Makayla Black, Aidan Cone, Natasha King, Kaiden South, Elisabeth Stewart, Matthew Ryan.  Those were all names of people, who would probably wake up in the morning, to find out there credit card information had been stolen.  “Guys, what are we going to do?”  Dakota asked the others, as they headed out.
Brooke snatched the papers, “What do you mean, what are we going to do?  Were going to give these papers, to the guys… and girl.”
“All those people are most likely going to lose all there money, if we give that to them.”
“It’s our ticket out.” Sarah said.

“Jordan, you agree, don’t you?”  Dakota asked, desperately.
Jordan hung her head, “I want to get back to my family.”  She whispered.
Dakota’s mouth gaped open, in disbelief.  “Do none of you see how wrong this is?!”
Everyone just hung there heads a little, and said nothing.  Then Dakota noticed something from the corner of eye, Pens!  Dakota stole the papers from Brooke, and snatched a pen.  “Dakota, what are you doing?!”  Brooke shouted.
She snapped the pen- with little effort- and ink blotched all over the papers.  “Dakota!”  Sarah shrieked.
She rushed to the ruined papers, and stared at them helplessly.  A tear ran down Sarah’s cheek, as the others just held their mouths open in disbelief.  Dakota felt uncomfortable with them all staring at her.  Brooke seemed to boil in anger and disbelief, Ian looked helpless and torn.  Samuel trembled as his mouth hung open, and Jordan fell down into a crying lump.  The only one, Dakota saw no emotion on their face, was Sarah.  Her lips were just a thin line across her face, and she stared calmly at the papers, but breathed heavily with tears streaming down her face.
But then there was a change, Sarah held her breath for a moment, then jerked around, with her fist flying toward Dakota’s face.  There was no time for Dakota to react, Sarah’s fist plummeted into Dakota’s face, in an instant her nose began to bleed.  “You just ruined our only chance to get out!”
Dakota staggered back as she wiped away the blood.  “We’re all going to die, now!!”  Sarah yelled, almost too loud.
Sarah attempted to punch Dakota in the stomach, but this time Dakota was ready.  She took hold of Sarah’s fist, and flipped her over, onto her back.  Sarah laid for a moment, groaning.  “Wait!  You guys, listen!”  Ian demanded.
Dakota stopped and listened, in the distance, she could hear the obnoxious sound of sirens.  Police!  She smiled, “It’s the police!  They can help us!”
A look of worry spread across Brooke’s face, “No!  We still have the collars on.”  She said almost hoarsely.
Why can’t they just take them off?  Dakota thought.
She heard the sirens come closer.   “We need to get out now!”  Ian demanded.
“I’m staying right here!”  Dakota announced.
I’m not going back.  If they want to be wimps, that’s fine with me!  A hard look passed through Ian’s eyes, “No, you are coming.”
He marched over to Dakota, “Ian, knock some sense into your brain!  This is the police, they can help us!!  Are you blind!?!”
Dakota saw a flash of red and blue on the wall.  “You are coming.”  He said.
Unexpectedly, Ian hoisted Dakota up onto his shoulder.  “Put me down, Ian!”  Dakota shouted.
Ian ran out of the restaurant, with Dakota on his shoulder, and followed the others.  Dakota could tell Ian was having trouble, after all he was only a few inches taller then her.  A moment later, they stopped behind a building not far from the car.  Ian let go of Dakota, and her body landed hard against the pavement.  Dakota winced.  “What was that all about, Ian?”  Sarah asked.
“She didn’t want to come.”  Ian answered.
They all stared at Dakota, as she sat up in pain.  “It’s the police, you people!  They were the chance to get out!”
 “Shh!!”  Brooke hushed.
“The papers were our chance, until you ruined them!”  Sarah whispered, “Besides, they would find the opportunity to come kill us!”
“They’re going to do that anyways!”
“Well, now they are, since we don’t have the papers!”
“Well, why don’t we just take off and run?!”
“Because, they’ll just shock us using the collars!”
Dakota saw a figure behind Ian, He has a gun!  “Ian-“
The man wrapped his arm around Ian’s neck in a quick motion.  Everyone froze as Ian started to choke, and the man put a gun to his forehead.  “You guys trying to escape?”  The man asked, roughly.
Dakota recognized Joseph (Blonde), she didn’t know if he was better or worse then a stranger.  “No.”  Was all Ian could muster.
 “Then come with me.”
He let go of Ian, and he almost fell to the ground.  He gasped for air, while the others followed Joseph.  Dakota stopped for a moment, and waited for Ian.  After a moment, of catching his breath, he caught up with the others.  Dakota and the others followed Joseph into the car.  They entered, and sat, while ignoring every little glance from Dakota.  When are they going to tell them what I did?  She held her breath for pretty much the entire ride, expecting at any moment for them to give her away.  At the house, the car stopped.  The kids waited for Red, or one of the others to make the first move out of the car, but they didn’t move.  Creepy turned around, and stared at us with demanding eyes, “Give us the papers!”
Dakota could feel fear crawl it’s way into her, and she shook.  The others tensed, and remained silent.  “Answer me!”  Creepy shouted.
Ian glanced at Dakota, then back at Creepy lady, “Dakota ruined them.”
Dakota held her breath, and looked down at the floor.  How could he could do that?!  I thought we were all in this together!  She let out a shaky breath as Red grabbed her by the collar of her shirt.  He brought her right up into his face.  Dear God, please help me.  “Is what Ian says true?”  He asked, heaving heavily in anger.
Dakota gulped, “I-”  The word came out shaky, and quiet.  She paused for a moment, as a verse came back to her,  Though I walk through the valley of the Shadow of Death, I will fear no evil, cause thou art with me.  She stopped shaking, and spoke, “I did ruin the papers.”
A look of hatred spread across his face, and she continued, “I believe it is wrong to steal someones money, and I knew I needed to prevent that.”  She announced, as bravely as she possibly could.
Red threw her against the seat, and it took all her strength to not lunge and attack him, or any of them.  He slammed down on the gas pedal, and they drove away. After a moment, of nasty glares from everyone but Jordan, Dakota heard Brooke let out a scared breath and asked, “Where are we going?”
  “Why do you need-”
Creepy put a finger to Blonde’s lips and interrupted, “We’re doing what we planned to do with you all along.”
“You’re taking us back to our family?”  Brooke asked, excitedly.
Creepy laughed, then mumbled, “Something like that.”
Dakota saw tears of joy spring up in Jordans eyes, and Sarah seemed uneasy.  Are they really going to let us go back to our families?  We saw their faces.  Then Dakota remembered what Creepy had mumbled only a moment before, ‘something like that’.  They’re not going to let us go.  Dakota knew.  They turned into a dark alley, and Blonde turned back to them, “Don’t follow us.”  He commanded in his rough voice.
The three criminals exited the car, and Dakota caught the sight of Red set something down in his seat.  Dakota unbuckled, and leaned forward to see what it was.  “Dakota, what are you doing!?”  Brooke asked in an annoyed whisper.
Dakota ignored her, and the commands of the others.  Suddenly a beep came from the device, and smoke began to pour into the car.  Dakota rushed for a door and tried to open it, but it was locked, and there were no buttons inside the car.  “Is that smoke?!”  Sarah asked, frightened.
Dakota punched the glass, as the car began to go up in chaos.  Everyone tried to open the doors, but with no success.  The smoke began to engulf the car, and Dakota heard Brooke scream, “We’re all gonna die!!”
Dakota heard coughing behind her as she still attempted to break through the window.  She held her breath and continued to grab anything she could find and pound it on the window.  After a moment, her lungs burned and she couldn’t hold it any longer.  She gasped for air, and coughed, as the smoke traveled its way through her body.  Her lungs burned even more now, and her eyesight began to fade.  Everything began to spin, and she felt lightheaded.  Her surroundings faded into black.
